Paul Mounce, 15th February, 2025

We are delighted to announce that Sam has passed her STEP qualification with a distinction, meaning we now have three members of our Wills & Probate team with STEP membership, with another due to complete his qualification shortly.

Samantha Turner - Associate

The STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification is a globally recognized qualification for professionals that deal with trusts, estates, inheritance tax and succession planning, and wealth management/preservation. The qualification is obtained by completing four advanced certificate modules covering; estate administration, trust administration, taxation and trust, and estate accounting.

A lawyer with full STEP membership has completed the qualification and has specialist expertise in these complex areas, ensuring a client’s assets are protected and wishes are carried out effectively. Our Private Client team now consists of 3 lawyers who are full STEP members; Paul Mounce (Head of Department), Samantha Willingham (Associate), and Samantha Turner (Associate).

Full STEP membership sees Paul, Sam and Sam become Trust & Estate Practitioners (“TEP”), a designation of which signals a high level of professional excellence.

Our STEP qualified lawyers can offer:-

  • Trust and tax knowledge to help minimize tax burdens and avoid legal pitfalls.
